Make your reservation online to ensure you receive your golf cart just 100 meters from the main exit of the Costa Maya port (beyond the security checkpoint). Renting a golf cart in Costa Maya gives you the freedom to explore wherever you want. Note: These are not the carts rented inside the port.
Upon leaving the cruise port, drive approximately 1 mile to reach “Las Casitas,” a housing area for local workers with some small restaurants. From there, take the road on the left towards the Mahahual lighthouse, marking the beginning of the true Costa Maya experience.
In the charming fishing village of Mahahual (Ma-ha-wal), you’ll find a variety of beach clubs, craft shops, regional food restaurants, and a beautiful beach with turquoise water and white sand, perfect for safe swimming.
