Costa Maya Scuba Diving: FAQ
Do I need to be certified?
For 1-tank and 2-tank dives you need a valid certification card (PADI, IDEA, NAUI, SSI, CMAS, NASDS or YMCA). Never dived before? Book the Discovery Diving Course, with a short briefing and supervised shallow dives.
How much does diving in Costa Maya cost?
1-tank dive $105 USD, 2-tank dive $135 USD and Discovery Diving Course $135 USD. Reserve any of them with a $15 USD deposit.
How long does each dive take?
About 1.5 hours for a 1-tank dive, 3 hours for a 2-tank dive and 3 hours for the Discovery course.
Which dive sites will we visit?
Our charters visit sites such as the Old Lighthouse, Buccaneer’s Anchor, 40 Cannons and The Steps, our most popular site, with frequent sea turtle sightings.
What’s included and what is the minimum age?
PADI-certified dive masters, complete scuba gear (or bring your own), and cold bottled water and soft drinks. Minimum age is 12 years old.

My family of 4 (myself, my wife, and 2 adult children) are coming to Costa Maya on NCL Breakaway ship on Fri., 2022 Jan. 14, in port 7am-2pm. Need to get back to ship by 1:30pm.
Are your staff all fully vaccinated? My family are all fully vaccinated.
Can you please let us know the cost for 3 of us (my 2 adults children and I, all AOW & Nitrox certified) for
2-tank diving, with gear rentals (we’ll have own fin/mask/snorkel/wetsuits)
Would the site be suitable for my wife as a snorkeler? If not, my wife can stay at beach and wait for us.
